The Australian Laser Radial women’s team is celebrating a strong result at the Laser U21 World Championship, where Elyse Ainsworth captured the bronze medal and three of our sailors finished in the top 10.

Ainsworth sailed consistently in the 12-race regatta at Gdynia in Poland, including winning race 3, to finish 10 points ahead of the fourth-place finisher.

Teammate Zoe Thomson entered the last day in striking distance of the lead but ended up fifth overall, while Mara Stransky started off with two wins on Day 1 and came away with ninth.

“Overall it was another good test for the girls, with the next regatta being the Worlds in Aarhus in August,” Laser Radial coach Jared West said. 

"I'm very proud of our squad and what they achieved this week."
