Next wave of sailors ready for Tokyo
The next wave of Australian sailors will take to the water on Tuesday, with the start of the Men’s Heavyweight One Person Dinghy – Finn, Men’s Skiff – 49er and Women’s Skiff – 49erFX.
Tricky day for Aussies as sailing regatta underway
It’s been a tricky day out on the water in Enoshima, where Australia’s Tokyo 2020 sailing campaign has got underway. Debutants Mara Stransky and Matt Wearn both put in solid showings, but the weather wouldn’t cooperate, with light and changing winds forcing postponements in both classes.

AST Coaching Chain Series - Matt Wearn
Making his Olympic debut in Tokyo, Matt Wearn will represent Australia in the Laser class. Matt started out sailing an Optimist as a child at Royal Perth Yacht Club, progressing through the 420 and ultimately finding his happy place in the Laser. He credits various coaches for their contribution to his journey to Tokyo in his edition of the Coaching Chain series.
AST Coaching Chain Series - Nia Jerwood
This edition of the Coaching Chain video features 470 helm, Nia Jerwood. Nia's junior sailing years were spent sailing Optis at Shelley Sailing Club and Freemantle Sailing Club in Perth. Nia credits several coaches for their key contribution to her pathway to Olympic debut in Tokyo.
