Iconic Australian regattas set the path to LA2028 and Brisbane 2032

The Australian Sailing Team is excited to see the summer of sailing in Australia kick off with the three iconic regattas, Sail Melbourne, Sail Sydney, and Sail Brisbane. These events have long been pivotal in fostering local talent and attracting international competitors, and their importance is even greater as we look ahead to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and a home Olympics for Brisbane 2032.

Mikael Lundh named Australian National Coach for ILCA6 Squad

Mikael Lundh, a highly experienced Olympic coach and former elite sailor, has taken on the role of Australian National ILCA6 Squad Coach. His appointment bolsters the Australian Sailing Team’s emphasis on elevating the ILCA6 squad to achieve the required repeated international performances to compete for the podium at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Australians build momentum at Nacra 17 European Championships

Two teams from the Australian Sailing Pathway faced a week of challenging conditions at the Nacra 17 European Championships in Palermo, Sicily. With light and shifty winds limiting the fleet to just six races, Ruben and Rita Booth finished fifth overall, while Paris 2024 Olympians Brin Liddell and Rhiannan Brown placed eighth.

Paris 2024 Olympians Brin Liddell and Rhiannan Brown return to the start line, continuing their Olympic aspirations as they set their sights on LA 2028. Joining them are Australian Sailing Pathway Team members Ruben and Rita Booth, who have shown strong results over the past year and are poised to compete at this high level.
